ELEMENTAL - competition, runner up
project: A very dense social-housing complex had to be built, preserving a good quality of public spaces. The minimal residential units, meant to be extended through self-construction, were designed trying to pre-order this extension process, with a good degree of flexibility and an acceptable urban quality. Using 3 different tipologies we form a continuous urban front on the surrounding streets, through a 3-D checkered building meant to be filled little by little. A second internal ring is used to define an inner border for cars and a sur-elevated peatonal pathway, protecting a less dense core with public open spaces and independent micro-houses.
