Social centre for senior citizens

project: Rehabilitation of a small building to host a social centre for old people. Part of a group of old rural buildings enclosed in the city of Modena, the small building has been divided in three layers: ground floor for social activities, first floor for rest and medical checkup and the attic for administrative offices. The new elevator and the cantilevered balconies are wrapped by a wooden skin with a perforated steel blue-cross, that, being the logo of the client, an association of social-volunteers, works as an urban sign.
